8X3BM5C1L4S4iYjLOri and the Blind Forest is possibly one of the best games I have ever played in a while. This puts me in an awkward position because I want to tell you all about it but at the same time, I don’t want to ruin the game for everyone.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a platform game in which you play as Ori, a little spiritual creature that looks surprisingly similar to MoMo from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Throughout the game, you have to visit various temple-like places but to do that you must find keys for each.ori-and-the-blind-forest-screen-9

Upon entering a temple, you are almost always greeted by hordes of enemies and need to fight your way out. This brings us to the game’s combat system. As you progress, you learn various fighting techniques from allies and friendly NPCs.

At the start of the game, you are greeted by an old acquaintance who helps you battle dark creatures, such as evil frogs and birds with attitude. But the true beauty of the game is less about combat mechanics and more about storyline and musical score.Ori-Blind-Forest

When I listen to the game’s sounds my heart just melts away. It’s a soothing and relaxing experience, giving the sensation of overwhelming completion to a simply elegant story. In fact, the script is so good that I cried at times; kind of like watching the opening of the Disney movie “UP”, except as a video game.

Throughout the story, you make friends, fight enemies and struggle to restore the light that has been lost in the woods where you live. In conclusion, I highly recommend this game to anyone and everyone. The story is what won me over and the mechanics are just perfect.
