Ah, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain from Hideo Kojima is one of the best game titles of 2015. Now, at long last, we can play Metal Gear Online 3! This is actually my first time experiencing Metal Gear Online. I know it has been a thing of the past, but I didn’t know what to expect from it until now. Honestly, I absolutely love it. Metal-Gear-Online-Hunting-in-the-wildI beat the main story and achieved an “S” rank in everything and it just seemed to lose its charm; even with the opportunity to get Quiet back onto Motherbase.

But the interactions with the people in Metal Gear Online are simply amazing. It’s nice to see the mechanics from the main story implemented in a way that everyone can play and have fun. In my entire time playing it I found few people who took the game too seriously. They were just having fun with it. However there was one group from England who just outright called me a “c*nt”, and when I asked if they wanted fries to go with their salt they rage quit. I wound up being the host of the next few games, as a result! So it’s safe to say, as in all multiplayer games, you have those people who take it just way too seriously…much like the Call of Duty fan base on consoles.mgo_sniper

Now in Metal Gear Online 3 you have three main classes to choose from. These classes are universal to each player and in each class, you can purchase (via in-game currency) special visual equipment to enhance their look. Now the thing with each class is that everything about them is the same overall, but can be customized with equipment and skills you unlock as you play.

The three classes are Assault, Infiltration, and Scout. The Scout focuses on mainly supporting from the end of the map; sniping and hiding. Infiltration focuses on stealth, and with it, you unlock the “Stealth Camo”. Assault is just an overall meat shield that can handle a lot of enemies at once, and has the most health overall. Infiltration has the lowest health and is easily killed. It’s recommended for seasoned players who are good at sneaking.hdr4u6jmm6eqywgzptnf

There are five maps in total as well, including Ground Zeroes‘ base where you meet Skull Face in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and some other areas from the main game’s story, such as the water treatment plant.

There are three game modes to choose from, and a variation called “Rush” where the map is drastically shortened to speed things up. Now the three game modes are: “Cloak and Dagger” where you steal a data disk and infiltrate with it, “Bounty” which is like a team deathmatch where bounties are placed on your head as you accumulate kills and “Capture Point” which is found in almost all first person multiplayer shooters and holds no special interest for me.

Overall, is this addition to Metal Gear Solid V worth checking out even more? I think so and I’m absolutely loving it! I hope everyone gets a chance to check it out. Until next time…happy headshots!
