Track Racing Online is a charming Indie game for those of you with a penchant for cars, racing, or in my case achievement hunting. If you are into gathering trophies or any sort of unlockable achieve, this is your game…it’s really the whole point…to see how many achievements you can get and compete against your friends online. The racing style is very solid and the car moves fluidly on all kinds of tracks.

track-racing-onlinetrack-racing_3This tight game is 100% free-to-play, and the tracks get ever-increasingly more difficult. But the greatest thing about this title is that you can download it on many platforms. There is an iOS version, Android, Windows Phone; you can even play the web version so you don’t have to download a local client!

The graphics are great, and the only suggestion I would offer is: Don’t use mouse-look to maneuver the vehicle. To strafe, use LEFT and RIGHT; to accelerate, use UP; and to hit the brakes, use DOWN.

It’ll take a little time to figure out how the tracks work. The physics are almost perfect; a few minor bugs here and there. If you do get hung up on the track, your car can explode, or it can just stop turning…but that will be patched in time. The tracks as mentioned, get increasingly harder, but also more interesting to look at.

When you crash your car…as you will inevitably will…you take damage, causing your vehicle to respond less efficiently. This mechanic was programmed extremely well, forcing you to compensate on-the-fly.

For a free-to-play game that’s a delight to behold, I have to say I’m very impressed with Track Racing Online. Download and play it on all your platforms…I’ll see you in-game!
